General's Daughter Sonoma Wedding
Hey everyone,
Today’s blog post is about a wedding that I photographed back in October with Simple Joie Photography! The weather was just starting to cool off, and it was finally starting to feel like autumn here in the Bay Area. I made the two-hour drive up to Sonoma, Califorinia, or as many people know it, “wine country”.
I started off by going to the groom’s house, and his family all gave me a warm welcome. I casually took photos of the kids being adorable, and later on of the groom getting ready for his big day. By the end of it, it almost felt like I was a part of the family! Everyone was offering me food, drinks, to take a seat and relax.
Then, we made our way over to General’s Daughter. I’ve found a lot of the venues up in wine country have the Victorian-style buildings on the property, with a large outdoor space for the ceremony & reception to take place, and this one is no exception. This couple chose to have the ceremony in the large space underneath the trellis, and the reception next to a fireplace and a gorgeous array of string-light-covered trees. It was a perfect, cool October night in the Bay. Music was blasting on the dance floor, everyone was laughing and enjoying good company of family and friends. What a beautiful night to capture in photographs!
