San Francisco City Hall Wedding | Emily & Jeffrey
Hi everyone!
This weeks’s blog post is all about a wedding I photographed a few weeks back at San Francisco City Hall!
If you’ve never been to this place, it is definitely worth seeing. The architecture is so beautiful, with high ceilings and a grand staircase in the middle. It is usually very difficult to not get anyone else in these photos, because it is always so crowded (and for good reason).
You may recognize these two from a blog post a few months back when I photographed their engagement session! Emily & Jeffrey were so sweet, and their intimate city hall wedding as just perfect. They brought their closest family with them to celebrate this special day in their lives. I love photographing City Hall weddings because of this - it is just their closest friends and family, and the focus is completely on celebrating the love between the couple. I loved photographing every second of this wedding!
After the ceremony at City Hall, we drove over to Baker Beach to do the family portraits and bride & groom portraits. Baker beach is just minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, with a gorgeous view of this national landmark. Clouds were rolling in, and the top half of the Golden Gate was lightly covered in fog, which actually made for some pretty cool photos. When the weather is overcast, the light is diffused and it creates soft light on the subject. I have definitely gotten my practice shooting in overcast light being from Chicago!
I hope you enjoyed this week’s blog post! it was a beautiful day that I was never forget. I am so grateful to be living in such a beautiful part of the country.
